Interested persons may apply for membership to the PECC at any time. Applications will remain active for up to one year. Approximately 1/3 of the council terms expire every year in July. CDPHE appoints members at its discretion.

The purpose of the Pediatric Emergency Care Committee (PECC) is to advise the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) on matters related to emergency medical services (EMS) for children and applicable regulations. The PECC also advises the Department on implementation of the federal EMS for Children State Partnership Grant program. In particular, the PECC shall:
Advise CDPHE on EMS and trauma system issues related to the care of children.
Provide clinical expertise and advice from a pediatric perspective as requested to the Department, other Departmental Committees, the State Emergency Medical and Trauma Services Advisory Committee (SEMTAC) and the Emergency Medical Practice Advisory Council (EMPAC).
Review and recommend strategies for the implementation of the EMS for Children State Partnership Grant.
Assist in the development and implementation of initiatives to improve the emergency care of Children.
